New species of global macrofungi was discovered in Baishanzu National Park in Lishui city of Zhejiang province

New species of global macrofungi named as Cortinarius subsalor was discovered in Baishanzu National Park in Lishui city of Zhejiang province by a team of experts recently.

The team of experts used traditional taxonomic research methods such as macroscopic features and microstructures to extract DNA from fruit body tissues, and perform gene amplification and sequencing under the guidance of Professor Li Yu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. The team of experts also performed systematic analysis based on ITS. This species is an independent branch showed by the systematic analysis results. It was determined as a new species of global macrofungi, named as Cortinarius subsalor. The new species paper was published in the international authoritative journal "PeerJ".

It was reported that cortinarius subsalor was discovered in evergreen broad-leaved forest at an altitude of about 1,500 meters in Baishanzu National Park, which is closely related to plants such as Lithocarpus brevicaudatus. Baishanzu National Park has a typical mid-subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem, with well-preserved vegetation, rich biodiversity, and a high concentration of rare and endangered species. It is an important gene treasure house in East of China.( Headquarters reporter Zhang Guoliang Ma Xun) (Translated from China Biotech Network)
